A/P Studio Rental Program
Located in the Ramsay area near Inglewood, the Alberta Printmakers’ Society studio is a fully functional self-directed printmaking studio with facilities to accommodate etching and intaglio, stone lithography, relief and silkscreen printmaking. Members of the Society can rent time to work in the studio by the day, by the week, by the month or by the year; monthly and annual renters are granted 24 hour access to the studio.
Renters are required to provide their own disposable materials. Common materials like photo-emulsion and emulsion remover, silkscreen base, hardground and softground, acids, cleaning supplies and heavy equipment are provided by the studio program. Materials fees vary depending on the term of rental (see fee schedule below). Silkscreen printers may email the Director stencil designs sized to a 13″ x 19″ transparency, formatted to gray-scale at least 1 open gallery day prior to printing, $8 per printout. Screens in various sizes may be rented (refer to link below).
New renters are given a studio orientation and safety/WHMIS orientation at the beginning of the rental term. It is recommended that first time renters come in for the orientation prior to the first day of printing. The studio is located at 2010 F – 11th Street SE Calgary, and is fully equipped to print:
- etching
- silkscreen
- stone lithography
- relief (lino and woodblock)
- collagraph
- monoprint
Studio Rental Fee Schedule
Members of the Alberta Printmakers’ Society may rent the studio on a daily, weekly, weekend or monthly basis. Non-members are invited to become members in order to rent the studio (download membership form here). Monthly and annual renters receive a studio key and are granted 24 hour access to the facilities.
$100 / month + $20 common materials fee
$75 / week + $15 common materials fee
$50 / weekend + $10 common materials fee
$20 / day + $5 common materials fee
$600 for unlimited annual studio access + $100 common materials fee
